The Promoters, a first-of-its-kind reality docu-series spotlighting the men behind the scenes who turned Caribbean and urban music promotion into a global movement, is set to debut in the first quarter of 2026. The series follows five of the biggest promoters in the game: DJ Private Ryan (Ryan Alexander), Jay Upscale (Jermaine Magras), Platinum Kids (Hans Mullings & Desmond Gavin), and Top Tier Management Group (Hector Carter & Omar Stephenson), who also serve as executive producers.

Packed with high-energy storytelling, behind-the-scenes drama, and raw authenticity, The Promoters highlight the unsung heroes of the culture; the ones who built stages, created opportunities, and shaped the experiences of generations. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jamal Hill (Brotherly Love, Deuces) and powerhouse producer Janelle Abraham (Caribbean Music Awards 2025, Dope Fiend), the series delves into the distinctive styles of each promoter and their ongoing challenges in navigating the competitive world of event promotion.

Abraham, the creative force behind the project, sees it as a way to “honour the promoters as the unsung architects of culture while honouring their legacy and showing how much they shaped the culture we celebrate today.” She continues, “I want audiences to walk away with a new level of respect for promoters,  to see them not just as people who put on shows, but as visionaries who built movements. Their journeys are raw, real, and inspiring, and without them, much of what we celebrate today in Caribbean, reggae, soca, and urban music would not exist in the same way.”

Director Jamal Hill calls The Promoters “a breath of fresh air in the reality TV space,” adding, “The business of large-scale concert event promoting is a world that has yet to be uncovered. I’m excited to bring this story to the forefront for the culture.” Executive Producers Hector Carter and Omar Stephenson of Top Tier Management Group share their excitement, “This series is more than entertainment; it’s a testament to the sacrifices and victories of those who built something out of nothing. We’re proud and excited to share this moment with the world.”

Four of the fivesome attended and graced the red carpet of the recently held Caribbean Music Awards in New York City as one of their pre-release engagement activities. With multiple network discussions underway, The Promoters is slated for an early 2026 premiere.

Stay tuned, history is about to be televised.
