Tobago’s premier songstress and performer Adana Roberts is grateful for the staging of Tobago’s first Carnival. As one of the island’s most sought-after voices, Adana enjoyed numerous performing opportunities throughout the Tobago Carnival festivities. Her collaboration with Zan on the Scarborough Riddim titled ‘We Reach’ became one of the soundtracks of the Carnival which ended on October 30.
For Adana, “Tobago’s staging of Carnival has potential and I can attest to it providing me with amazing opportunities to showcase my talent and music.” Sad that the celebrations have ended, the songstress has noted that she was “embraced by not only Tobago natives but visitors to the celebrations which was heartwarming.” Although the final days of the celebrations on the island were marred with rain, she wishes to “thank, recognize and commend all the event organizers and promoters for putting their best foot forward.”
Adana is happy about her inclusion in the Tobago activities having graced the stages of Bago Jam, Blue Food Festival, Vibes With Voicey, Junior Calypso Monarch, Eden, Soca Jam, Bougie and many others. One notable moment for Adana was the Tobago Stars Of Soca competition where she served as a judge. The talent displayed was indicative of the potential that resides on the island. She sees the competition as “the perfect environment to foster and enhance the careers of the competitors.”
As she excitedly looks forward to the 2023 staging of Tobago’s Carnival her immediate focus is on Trinidad’s impending carnival. While finalizing her projects for release, Adana feels confident that her contributions will be well-received and enjoyed by audiences globally.
From November 06 – 11, Adana is scheduled to be part of a contingent from Tobago that will exhibit at the World Travel Market in London. She is carded to perform during her visit.
