The live sound of Soca Music will echo at the Toronto Raptors Caribbean Night on February 23, 2023. Soca songstress Patrice Roberts will perform during the Toronto Raptors vs. New Orleans Pelicans halftime intermission at the Scotiabank Arena. This exciting opportunity will allow Roberts to showcase her hits and Soca music to millions of viewers.

The 2019 NBA Champions describe the Caribbean Heritage Night as a way of paying homage to “the various cultures of the Caribbean diaspora as a part of our commitment to supporting the Black community“. They also shared that it is “important to recognize that many members of the Black community in Toronto and across Canada migrated from the Caribbean or are of Caribbean descent”.

Patrice’s goal is to, “showcase the energy, uniqueness and warmth of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean by extension.” She sees this as an opportunity to “reach people who also may be unfamiliar with Soca music”. This first-time experience performing at an event of this nature excites Patrice and is in line with her objective to share Soca music with global audiences. She is encouraging both the physical and viewing audience to dance, sing, and wave their flags or rags during her high-energy performance.

Whether a basketball fan or not, tune in on February 23 2023 to see Patrice Roberts at the Toronto Raptors Caribbean Night.
